Callis v. Southern Pacific Railroad: One of his first multi-million dollar settlements was Larry Callis. The Southern Pacific Railroad employee lost both legs and an arm when he was run over by a runaway train car. A Los Angeles law firm suggested the young Yuma family could get as much as $300,000 in a trial. Brewer obtained an out-of-court settlement of $1.8 million in five (5) months.
